COACHES:

ELIGIBILITY:
1st & 2nd Grade Team: Any 1st & 2nd grader who will not turn 9 before October 16, 2008.
3rd & 4th Grade Team: Any 3rd & 4th grader who will not turn 11 before October 16, 2008.
5th & 6th Grade Team: Any 5th & 6th grader who will not turn 13 before October 16, 2008.
7th & 8th Grade Team: Any 7th & 8th grader who will not turn 15 before October 16, 2008.
LEAGUE:
The league is made up of teams from Wilkes, Ashe, Watauga, Caldwell and Alexander counties.
GAMES:
The 1st & 2nd grade Jackets will play five to six games.
The 3rd & 4th grade Jackets will play nine to ten
games.
The 5th & 6th grade Jackets will play nine to ten games.
The 7th & 8th grade Jackets will
play ten games.
1st & 2nd, 3rd & 4th and 5th & 6th grade games will be played on Saturdays.
7th & 8th grade games will be played on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
The 7th & 8th grade season ends on October 14th and
will not interfere with basketball and wrestling.
PRACTICE:
Will begin Monday July 28, 2008, at Peace Haven Baptist Church, 6:00pm for 1st & 2nd and 3rd
&4th and at the old Fairplains School for 5th & 6th and 7th & 8th grade teams.
-We do not cut players. All players who attend practice will make the team.
-All players and cheerleaders must have physicals and permission slips signed by parents or
guardian before allowed to practice. If a player cannot afford physical, team will provide one.
-Birth certificate must be turned in before 1st game.
-1st & 2nd grade team first game August 16th. After 1st game, allowed three practices between games.
-3rd & 4th grade team first game August 16th. After 1st game, allowed three practices between games.
-5th & 6th grade team first game August 16th. After 1st game, allowed three practices between games.
-7th & 8th grade team first game August 16st. After 1st game, allowed four practices between games.
-Due to high gas prices, number of practices may be scaled back.
-No Sunday practices allowed.
-Wear shorts, t-shirt, tennis shoes or football shoes to practice.
-Bring ice water to practice and eat several hours BEFORE coming to practice.
-Rain Policy-SHOW UP-Bring all equipment and tennis shoes.
-Tell coach if you are going to miss practice. Bring written excuse from parents.
-Helmets allowed on 3rd practice. Shoulder pads allowed on 4th practice. Full pads allowed on 5th
practice. Full contact allowed on 6th practice.
EQUIPMENT:
Each player will need to provide own jock, shoes and mouthpiece. If a player is unable to obtain
these items, the league will help. If you want to play football, we try to make it possible. The team
provides helmet, shoulder pads, practice pants, black game pants and game jersey with players
name on back. Players, who stay out for entire season, get to keep game jersey. Also, each player
receives a free Yellow Jacket tee shirt.
RIDES:
Each player is responsible for his own transportation to and from practice. If a player is
unable to provide own ride, some rides can be arranged by coaches.
INSURANCE:
Team will provide insurance for football players and cheerleaders who don’t have insurance and
secondary coverage for those with insurance. $100 Deductible.
FEE:
$20 participation fee per player. If you cannot pay $20 then pay what you can afford or fee may be
waived by coach. Everybody makes team regardless of fee being paid.
